ONE LIFE CHANGED THROUGH ALPHA COURSE

Last October (2006), I received word that a long time friend of mine was having some alcohol related problems. His liver had failed twice and his doctor told him that if he continued to drink he would soon die. I went over to minister to him and invite him to our Alpha course. He wanted nothing to do with God. His wife Susan on the other hand, sat and talked with me. The Lord wanted Susan’s heart. She was weary and heavy laden from life without Jesus and an alcoholic husband. I sensed God’s pursuit for Susan’s heart. She attended the Alpha course missing only two weeks. Full of tears but with nowhere else to turn, Susan gave her heart over to Jesus at the end of the retreat. She raised her hand that Saturday night and asked for prayer. Our speaker Karen prayed with Susan as she very honestly asked Him to come into her heart and fill her with His Spirit. Suddenly as if in a fairy tell, the shackles broke loose and God touched Susan. She was free. That night she was a changed woman. She is now a greeter at our spring Alpha course and plugged in to home group, church and most of all Jesus. Her husband came to church and home group once. He is now attending AA meetings. I had the honor of watching Susan get baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, & the Holy Spirit at the end of April. Praise God!!!!
